We bought it as our first magnetic set and the kids loved it. It does not have too many pieces but it is a good set to start playing with and testing whether you really like spending time making structures out of magnets. Making complex structures is a challenge due to the "sticky and repelling" nature of magnets but this is a nice starter kit to see if you really have the patience for the activity. Overall, the set came with a box and the quality of the magnets is good. No rough or sharp edges. Definitely not for you if you have toddlers around since these would not be good for anyone if they ingested them.

I purchased a different magnetic block set for my niece and as we were playing together with it, I realized how much fun I was having -- not just playing with my niece, but playing with the blocks and thought to myself, I'm going to need my own set. So I ordered one. I got this silver more compact set for a flare of elegance on my desktop while working. It is amazing how just five minutes of play can reset my focust and place a calm over me that drives me forward to do more without fatigue. Before I would look on my phone and feel rushed and less intentional. This block set seems to be just what the doctor ordered when I didn't even know I needed the Rx. It has a nice smooth durable feel and the clicking of the magnets is so soothing. Occasionally, I find others toying with them while talking to me at my desk. I don't mind. It proves I made a great choice.

I feel like I need to leave a review because there are a lot of complaints in the reviews here about this set being small. Yes, the pieces are small! The dimensions are in the description about the product. I got these to add to some other sets of larger size and needed some smaller pieces. I'm trying my best to get off social media and keeping busy with other methods of stimulation. These fit the bill! They are sturdy and small and fun!

These are really fun! The Rod themselves are magnetic, but the balls are not. We have had no problems with them staying together. I actually feel that this a good safety precaution because these are tiny and magnets are very dangerous if swallowed. Our kids are older though so we don't have that concern. They came in a nice box that can be used for gift giving or storage.

These magnets are great! Fun to build different shapes. Definitely durable, but find a good box to store them in when you arenļæ½ļæ½t playing with them. Lots of little pieces that can give hours of fun...as long as you donļæ½ļæ½t lose them!!

Bought these to add to a STEM center for my 3rd graders. Theyļæ½ļæ½re small, so theyļæ½ļæ½re great to have a student use at their desk. My kids were stoked to have them! Iļæ½ļæ½ll be buying more so I can have two students at a time use them and try to create the taller tower.

Ordered two sets. They come packaged very nicely in a tin similar in size and shape to an Altoids tin. It's lined with foam, which is nice because otherwise I could see these making a ton of noise and potentially the magnets getting damage. These are a lot more fun and interesting to play with than Buckyballs. They're a bit more temperamental, but it's also easier to recover from a mistake. By varying the number of rods between balls, you can make some really interesting shapes and structures. I do wonder if one set might be too small to really do much with. I enjoyed the two sets that I had, but I was running into issues with making more elaborate structures, so I've ordered two more.

Our son loves this. We were aware of his interest in magnets. The packaging is nothing special. It looks like a small lozenges tin and we didnļæ½ļæ½t know what this was when it arrived. Had to open it to determine what it was (at which point some of mon-magnetic balls fells to the ground). I recommend this to older children that can keep up with the pieces. This is a small gift.

The impression I got from some of the reviews was that they might break quickly or might look worse than what they appear to be in photos. But I am pretty happy to look at them in real life. They're really beautiful, don't seem to have any problem with strength (of course I didn't take a hammer to them but obviously they are to be handled with care), and they're really fun to work with. After a few attempts at building something I realized that making something beautiful with them is more complicated than you think. That's because there are so many possibilities and so many combinations. The photo is what I was able to make after a quick 5 minutes of random combinations. I don't plan on making something complex myself since I'm going to gift these to my younger brother. But I will update the review if something goes wrong.

My kids (ages 6-12) love these magnets. They are familiar with a different set at their grandparents house, but they preferred this set. Easily manipulated into whatever shape you want. As a mom I appreciated the storage box. These are a little small, but I liked they were easy to travel with or keep track of.

Pictures are deceptive. The unit we built in the picture was done with TWO kits. We ran out of sticks. In order to build some of the items they have in the pictures you would need like 10 of these kits.
